Hello,

Report server has several files in the /opt/BO/crystal/../tmp folder that have world rwx access.  They all appear to be 0-byte in size.  Are these files necessary - can they be removed/locked down?

In bex query we can do this  but the prompts appears in Design studio, that we don't required only using dropdown in design studio we have to create and should select based on the dropdown and report has charts and cross tab.

Quick Adobe Forms question

Hello everyone,

I'm a new developer, and this is probably an embarrassingly simple question, but I've Googled it to death, and even had one of our senior dev's look at it with me for two hours with no luck. I'm trying to make a change in a displayed text field in an Adobe Form that is displayed from a CRM UI. The person who created this form is using a javascript call in a text box to generate the text. I only need to insert a floating field, but I have no idea where the data is coming from, and therefore no idea where to look. There is a Text Box in a subform with the code "this.rawValue = Text36.rawValue", and a Rich Text Box below it named Text36; which is empty. I originally thought it was somehow importing the field as long text, now think it is pulling the data from the form somewhere. Can someone please tell me where I can find the data source so I can alter it?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

1099 Question regarding IRS Naming Control

$

Right now, we set up our new vendors using what is on the first line of their W9.   Many times, this is not their "dba" name, so when invoices come in, we are always having to figure out who they are.   My manager said the reason we have to do it this way is because of the information that is transmitted to IRS for 1099's.

(Example -   W9 comes in with Name (as shown on your income tax return) is:  Legal Company Name LLC    and dba name is: DBAThisName.    We have to set up the Vendor as "Legal Company Name", but the invoice comes in as "DBAThisName". )

I went to IRS website, and read where the "naming control (if provided)" has to match when sending the file.

Using the Correct Name Control in e-filing Corporate Tax Returns

My question -  is there a place in SAP to create the "naming control" that the IRS uses, so that we can provide this naming control for the file that is sent electronically?   Ideally, I would like to create a naming control when setting up a new vendor so that it will match IRS when 1099's are filed, but have the name on vendor master as how the invoice comes in.

I hope this makes sense, and thank you in advance for any help given.

SAP BI/BW - Calculate the total on individual Columns on BEX

$

Hello

I have a situation using BEX query.

The case is as follows, I have several customers for different type of products.

Customer 1Customer 2Customer 3
PType1101520
PType215111
PType33310
Results181941

I need the total of products (18, 19, 41) on a calculated key figure for each customer to be used in another formula.

It should look like this:

Customer1KFTotalCustomer2KFTotalCustomer3KFTotal
PType1101815192041
PType215181191141
PType33183191041
Results181941

The issue I am having is that I am unable to get the total in the KFTotal key figure for each individual customer.

Until now, I have tried:

  1. Use exception aggregate in a formula with option “Summation” in reference to customer.

The issue here is that the KFTotal Keyfigure displays the individual value for each Product type instead of the total.

  1. Use Data function SUMGT on the values for each customer. The issue here is that I am having the total for all customers instead of each individual customer. I.e, all KFTotal will display 78 (18+19+41). I cannot use exception aggregate while using SUMGT.

  1. Use Data function SUMRT on the values for each customer. Same issue as with SUMGT.
  2. Use Data function SUMCT on the values for each customer.  Values for KFTotal = X. I cannot work with this.

Can anybody please help me . How can I calculate the individual totals? I basically need the same total calculated locally for display in a calculated key figure.

Thanks

only one field (Purchasing group) to amend in ME52N by a group of persons.

Dear Experts,

We require  only one field (Purchasing group) to amend in ME52N by a group of persons. And for he same we tried through authorization control but it didnt work, as all fields were in changeable mode instead of only purchasing group.

We thought of SHD0 process to work in it,can we go in this way? Will it be effective to meet the target.

Is there any other workaround to achieve it so that one party can access std. ME52N and the other party gets ME52N only to change purchasing group .

Cancellation of Warehouse task using Exception Code in RF

$

Hi All,

Scenario

We have configured PSA integration with EWM . Production call-off is always triggered for 1 HU. These HU's are packed for specific qty as per packing instructions and placed in flow racks. My replenishment lot qty is same as the packaging specifications i.e. if a particular material is packed for 10 qty per HU that means my call-off from production will be always in the lots of 10 qty. But there are cases while repacking the operator may not pack 10 qty due to qty shortage.

For example Operator packed the first HU (HU1) with 8 since 10 qty was not available and second HU (HU2) with 10 qty. Operator picks HU1 which has 8 qty for the call-off . Once he confirms the task for 8 , WT for 2 qty is created. As partial removal of qty from HU is not allowed in this storage type.

So we need to either prevent the creation of WT for 2 qty or cancel it using an exception code.

I am aware of rounding up off HU so that it picks the whole HU. As space constraints are there in POC locations we can only replenish one HU at a time.

Note : Level of availability in Storage type is at bin level as system should not propose source HU while creating task for Flow racks.Operator always picks the HU that lies in front.

External JS libraries in SDK component

Hello all,

I've build a component based on the visJS vizualization library and although it worked perfectly in Design Studio 1.3, it fails to run the external JS file in Design Studio 1.4.

My contribution.xml file contains the following line: <jsInclude>res/js/vis.js</jsInclude> which points to a copy of the library available here: http://visjs.org/dist/vis.js

On console.log on the separate file vis is identified as an object and I can instantiate a visualization based on the library. However, when running a Design Studio application using the component I get the following error: Uncaught ReferenceError: vis is not defined

Has anyone else had this problem before? I'll be grateful for any suggestion you may have on this topic.

Thank you,

Alina

PI 7.31 ESR & ID client components not opening with Java 7 webstart

Hi All,

I got this error while trying to open the ESR & ID components of PI 7.31 in my client machine with windows 8 and Java 7 update 67.

Error: java.lang.SecurityException: Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar:http://<host>:<port>/.....

I tried to resolve the above error by going with the workaround i,e. specifying the url in the exception site list in the Java Control Panel.

http://<host>:<port>/rep/repository/com.sap.xpi.ibrep.client.jar

http://<host>:<port>/dir/directory/com.sap.xpi.ibdir.client.jar

Still I am not able to lunch the ESR and ID and the new set of errors are as in the attachments.

Just to add to it I am logging to the PI server from a different domain and via a VPN though I can easily access the ABAP stack.

Please give your inputs.

Thanks,

Rajendra

I have a requirement where I have to send an excel as an attachment in an email and the attachment should be password protected. The requirement is from the HCM team where they send lots of sensitive data to third party vendors. Please let me know how to do this. I have researched the blogs for a definitive answer but never had one. I know its possible to download a password protection file to the presentation server using FM. Please assist.

Blog It Forward - Markus Theilen

Hi there!

I am now part of the Blog It Forward Community Challenge thanks toJitendra Kansal (Blog It Forward - Jitendra Kansal) who discovered me on the SAP Mentors list as a new cup of the pack.

BecomingSapMentor.jpg

This photo shows my SAP Mentor's Mentors, Thorsten Franz on the left and Tobias Trapp on the right with me in the middle after hardly earning this year's SAP Mentor t-shirt by singing a famous German lullaby in front of all other Mentors. Quite an experience.

As you might already guess by my name, I was born in Germany in the nice little town Oldenburg (http://www.oldenburg.de/sprachversionen/gb.html) up in the north, near Bremen. I am today 41 years old, married and proud father of one little daughter.

SichtVomHaus.jpg

A view from my new home at one of the rare sunny days.

Two funny facts about Oldenburg:

  • There is computer museum in town: Oldenburger Computer-Museum e.V. (sorry, web site is only available in German at the moment). What makes it different from other museums is that you can actually play with the old arcade machines and home computers. It is like a time travel for me sometimes.
  • Oldenburg has only about 158,000 inhabitants, but it is said that there are over 250,000 bicycles.

http://www.unicp.de/artikel/images/gallery/uni_oldenburg_1.jpg

I studied Computer Science at the local Carl-von-Ossietzky university (http://www.uni-oldenburg.de/en/) and started my working career at a local consulting company as a developer. This was also the time of my very first contact with SAP. Since then I went deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole....no, this is a different story. Not even mine...:-)

Since many years I am working in the german SAP user group DSAG (http://dsag.de) as co-speaker of the working group "Development". There, we talk with SAP and customers and partners that do development based on any SAP technology where this is possible. Last year, we created a nice little best practice guide for ABAP development that is also available in English:  https://www.dsag.de/fileadmin/media/Leitfaeden/Leitfaden_Best_Practice_Guide_eng/

I have two fields of special expertise that I really like to talk about: ABAP development, especially code analysis, and Scrum transitions. In the future, I would like to have a deeper look into HTML5 development and gamification.

Since October 2014 I was nominated to be a SAP Mentor. This is really a very great honor for me and at TechEd 2014 in Berlin I had the chance to meet and talk with so many great SAP Mentors in real life like never before. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, as it feels like being part of a very great and competent community of enthusiasts which is incredible!

When not in work mode, I like to collect (especially from Starfield, a long-gone company that managed to build great guitars and not earn enough money with them) and play guitar and record some stuff for my personal entertainment (if you like to hear some: https://soundcloud.com/therealtier). But I miss playing in a real band, so I am searching for one.

If I can beat my inner swine dog, I would really like to play football again, perhaps even act as a trainer for a youth team.

IMG_0970.jpg

Some of my guitars hanging around.

And now to the questions part of this blog:

First of all, Jitendra asked these questions:

1) What makes you smile/laugh?

I really like to see people making jokes about themselves. Being able to joke about yourself is a good sign of greatness IMHO.

2) Had you not been into software at all, where would you have been?

Playing football professionally or rocking the world with my band.

3) What is the craziest thing you would have done in your life?

Skydiving. If I only dare to do this....

Here are some more questions with my answers:

· If you were 20 again, what would you study?

Music. Computer Science is great for me, but music is by far the greatest source of pleasure and joy for me.

· Which 5 things do you absolutely want to achieve in life?

  1. See my daughter grow and go her own way.
  2. Learn to fly a helicopter.
  3. Inspire someone to do outstanding things.
  4. Play a concert in front of 1,000+ people that really like what they hear.
  5. See the Big 5 in real life in Africa

· What do you enjoy most in your work and why?

Achieving a bigger goal, like a successful project or convincing the management to go a certain way I belief to be good.

· Share an interesting/funny story related to your product

We do not sell our "product", so I can share a funny thing about it. A few years ago, I discovered a small piece of code that defined constants for valid years. According to this piece of code, our world will stop from working at 2020, as there are no more valid years...

· Recommend resources of information that helped you in your work

Books. I have read tons of it, so my advice is: Read as many of them as possible. There are great articles and post about every topic you search for in the World Wide Web, but this does not compare to reading a great book like "Design Patterns" (http://www.amazon.com/Design-Patterns-Elements-Reusable-Object-Oriented/dp/0201633612) or "Programming Pearls" (Programming Pearls (2nd Edition): Jon Bentley: 0785342657883: Amazon.com: Books)...I could go on for a few more hours. Take the time to read and talk about it with your friends and colleagues.

· What do you think are the key elements for a successful project?

The by far number one key element for successful projects are the right people. No matter if you work in agile or non-agile projects, being small or big, the most essential part are the people that work with you. If you can manage it that they understand your vision and goals and follow you from their own will, you can move mountains.

I would like to blog it forward to a very good friend of mine here in SCN, Christoph Menke along with these questions:

  1. What drives you in your profession?
  2. What would you like to achieve in your life?
  3. If you could be a computer game hero, who would you like to be?
  4. Is there something in your daily work that drives you crazy?

Thank you, dear reader, for your interest! Perhaps we meet sometime, somewhere.
